Strawberry Field and Stone Mountain

The three of us spent a fun day together on Saturday. We went to Washington Farms to pick strawberries. It was enjoyable, but it was HOT! It reminded me of WORKing on my grandparents farm as a child. (They didn't have strawberries...it was the laboring and sweating in the sun, the farm setting, the dirt paths, and the trees huddled close to the field that brought those memories back to me.) This part of our day was inspired by Smantha's post about taking Lily to pick strawberries. These berries are delicious! So it was a two for one...a nice family activity ...and a yummy treat.
Then we headed over to Stone Mountain. Stone Mtn is one of our favorite places to go to. We had fun playing putt putt, going on the train ride, riding the sky tram, and playing on top of the mountain. Rose even took several of our photos toady. She really enjoys photography right now. So in the mosaic photo, all the pics that don't have rose in the photo (minus the produce) were taken by HER.
We also stopped at a roadside produce stand and picked up some corn to grill tomorrow.
It was a fun family day!

Cupcakes

Friday afternoon Rose asked if we could make cupcakes. I can't recall ever making cupcakes with Rose. I checked the pantry and we had everything needed. So we had a fun time together making cupcakes. Luckily, we have a picnic to go to this weekend to get rid of some of these cupcakes. 24 cupcakes is an awfully lot when your a household of 3.

Andrew's birthday party

Andrew had his birthday party on Saturday. These photos were taken on Chad's cell phone, that is why I didn't have access to them until today. But I don't know why they turned out so blurry. His cell used to take fairly decent, although not premium quality photos. But even with the blurs I wanted to share.

Crab leg Adventure

During our vacation, while at the sand dollar restaurant , Rose decided she wanted some crab legs. She has never eaten crab legs . I love shell fish and was thinking about ordering them, but also leaning towards a fish dish since that would be less messy. But she wanted to give it a try, so I happily ordered the crab legs. The entire time we were there she did not stop working on those legs. She cracked them open and pulled the meat out and gobbled it up! I thought after a while she might decide this is too much work.....but, no, she stuck with it. It was very cute to watch her. She did a good job!

hullabaloo

Andrew got the Cranium Hullabaloo DVD game for his birthday and brought it over to play today. They had so much fun with this game! I highly recommend this game! ...too fun...(great for motor development and listening skills...as well as shapes, colors, animal name and sounds, etc etc....the dvd also shows National Geographic footage of real animals...it is two thumbs up...plus they can set it up and play by themselves)

blog additions

Well, I am sure you noticed the picture of Rose I added to my header.....I love that pic!.......But I also wanted to bring your attention to the 1-minute daily devotions I added to the right margin. It only takes a minute to read it! ...I have the feed right here so you don't even have to leave this page to read it. It is a part of the Right from the Heart ministry our pastor Bryant Wright started 16 years ago to reach people through media. So take a minute each day you visit to read it. As you read it click the tiny little blue plus sign to bring up the rest of the devotion...it normally has one more little paragraph.

Stickers by Number

This is kind of like paint by number but with little square stickers instead. It gives it the mosaic look. Rose, mommy, and daddy worked on it together Sunday afternoon, then Rose finished it up today.

belated post about Mother's Day

I kept meaning to post about my wonderful Mother's Day. The day started with bed in breakfast prepared by Rose and Daddy. Then we went to church, where Rose made me some pretty tissue paper flowers. We had lunch at Mellow Mushroom Pizza.....which was an excellent choice b/c the place was practically empty....I guess most moms don't pick pizza as their Mom's Day lunch :) Then we went to Lowe's where I picked out this fern.Rose asked if she could have a plant that she could take care of all by herself. She picked this one b/c it had a cactus Rose (after we didn't let her get a Rose bush).

The afternoon was spent relaxing at home. Chad made curry chicken and rice for supper. It was a very pleasant day!

Thank you Rose and daddy!

I didn't get to spend the day with my mommy. My sisters took her out to lunch and went to her house that evening. I sent her a care package, which is nice but not the same as spending time with her.
