It's A Girl!!.....and she is ADORABLE!!

Yesterday Rose and I got to see Baby Sophia! She is so adorable, so beautiful, and so precious. I know she is only 3 weeks old, but I am ready for Jody to get back to work so I can spend 3 days a week with her. I loved holding her and just looking at her.
It was great to see Andrew. A month was a long time to go without being with him. He and Rose played and played. Rose did not want to leave their house.

Here is a picture of Andrew and Sophia.

more KY

I do believe this is the last of my Ky pics! We had fun. We had the Mcbee reunion which was a 4 day event. Then mom and my sisters and all the kids did a faux vacation.....were everyone came to mom's and each day a different person was in charge of the activities, food, etc. On my day the kids played in the little pool, decorated cookies, for lunch everyone made their own pizza, we did scavenger/treasure hunts...etc. During the evenings I was pricing everyones stuff for our HUGE yard sale we had Thurs, Fri, and Sat. It was so super hot during our yard sale. then we had another family reunion. Me and mom took the kids to Vine Run VBS and ended up helping teaching it every evening. That Saturday Rose and I spent at Kristie's to watch movies and jump on the trampoline. I got some framed pics up on moms walls and in dad's office. We also went to the creation museum, the park, and went yard saleing ourselves, and visited consignment stores....as a matter of fact during our first few days up there we found a nice little bike for Rose at the consignment. She rode it every day we were up there. Some days she would get up and go out to her bike still in her pj's! Tori and or Tim spent the night most nights so she almost always had at least one or more cousins to play with at all times. By the way Tori is a great helper...pushing on the swing, getting drinks, etc....a great little helper! We also did a movie night one night at Jennifer's house. Oh, and we babysat baby Gavin for two days. And Clara got to spend the night one night. ......humm, I am sure I am forgetting something. I did get to go to my old home church and see everyone, which is always so nice. Overall it was a great month. Chad spent a week up there with us and then he went back to Atlanta for school. It was hard being away from him for so long....don't think I will do that long of a time frame again. But it so nice seeing my family. Dad works a lot with his job plus works every evening and weekend out on the farm. Mom spends a lot of time with the kids and running errands for people. The farm is so beautiful and fun I am glad we were able to be a part of it!

The Creation Museum

While we were up in Ky we went to the Creation Museum with Gma, Kristie, Kyle, Jordan, and Rose's friend Clara.
Clara is one of the girls I used to babysit when we lived in Lexington, KY. Her and Rose are good friends and we try to spend time with her when we go to KY. Clara got to spend the night with us Gma's house.

Rose's first VBS

This was Rose's first Vacation Bible School week. Gma and me ended up help teaching Rose's and Tim's class b/c they had so many kids. I enjoyed helping out!!
Side note: (My nephew, Tim is 6 1/2 yrs old and Rose is 4......They are about the same size...Rose is a little bigger..... They were in the same class.)

Day one of VBS:
Last Day of VBS: A video of the last night of VBS (family night):Side note: This is the church about a mile or so down the road from were my parents now live. (But they still attend Crittenden Baptist) This is also the church my maternal grandparents went to. So I have some fond memories here. I remember going to VBS here as a child a couple of times. And I knew practically everyone there.....Rose's main teacher and one of her helpers were people I graduated high school with.

Irvin Reunion 2008

A few years ago dad's side of the family started having an annual family reunion. Here is this year....

McBee Reunion 2008

My mom's side of the family always has a reunion the first Saturday of July. It is a big family. The first photo is mom with her brother and sisters....then each individual family group then some candid shots. It was a fun day of good food and catching up with the cousins and everyone.

Reunion cake

My 2008 McBee Reunion Cake. This was fairly simple to make. My cousin sent me the recipe from a magazine. We thought the 'bee' theme was neat.

The Surprise (cont.)

I already told you we are giving my parents a cruise for their 40th wedding anniversary and that we are ALL going. Mom and dad have wanted the family to go on a cruise together ever since their first cruise....but didn't really think it would happen.
Here is a video of how we told them about it. ....I told them the kids (the 6 grandkids) had a talent show thingee to do for them....to get them to come sit front and center on the couches.....I think the kids part is cute so that is the part of the video I am showing. We went on and each of us three girls expressed our love and thanks for mom and dad.
Here is a clip of the video.....

Home again, home again, jiggity jig

My parents offered to drive me and Rose home instead of Chad driving up and getting us. So we took them up on that offer. They spent the weekend with us. On Saturday we all slept in and then Chad (and rose) fixed a yummy brunch. We leisurely got ready and went hiking along the Chattahoochee. When we got home we went swimming before enjoying a evening of Gma and Gpa playing the Wii.
Unfortunately I got very sick in the night Saturday night....and I didn't get to spend anytime with them before they left on Sunday. And after being gone for a month I was looking forward to going to our church...but nope...I was sick. So Chad and Rose spent the day together without me. Thankfully the sickness only lasted one day.
