Rose has shown an interest in reading (and writing). On Wednesday we started working on site words since she has the interest (I wasn't planning on starting to read till she turned 4, but she has the desire now) :) Anyways, Wednesday I introduced her to about 20 site words. She now (Friday morning) knows 8 for sure!! I think that is wonderful!! I am using Your Baby Can Read.... and playing games with words etc. I plan to use a combination of phonics and site word teaching. Just going at her pace and letting her lead, right now. She thinks it is fun and loves this in addition to the school time we have. She has a true thirst for learning right now. It is so neat to watch her learn!
The words she always gets right:
cat
dog
gorilla
elephant
Rose
Mommy
Daddy

Wednesday's Field Trip...
(I forgot my camera and I forgot that I could have taken pics with my cell---oh well)
Today we went to Monkey Joe's for our field trip. It is a warehouse full of those inflatables....slides, bouncies, etc. Andrew and Rose played very well together and had a lot of fun. I got in played with them for a while, too.
We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner at church tonight. De-lish. And tonight was the last for my class for the semester. Rose's class continues through the first week of December.

Christmas Card Idea
I recv'd this idea in an email and thought it was blog worthy.
Add one more address to your Christmas card list. :)
When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one
card and send it to this address. If we pass this on
and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards
these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so
much would get.
A Great Idea!!!
Send to:

Rose writing her name
I wish I could say this a product of me teaching her and working with her to write her name. But this is all her. While we were in KY I discovered she could verbally spell her name. Then she started writing her name (without the "S") all by herself. ...wow.... so since she now writes on her own we have started working on letter formation, but she did this before we started working on it!! As a proud momma .....of course I had to share. :)
