The three of us spent a fun day together on Saturday. We went to Washington Farms to pick strawberries. It was enjoyable, but it was HOT! It reminded me of WORKing on my grandparents farm as a child. (They didn't have strawberries...it was the laboring and sweating in the sun, the farm setting, the dirt paths, and the trees huddled close to the field that brought those memories back to me.) This part of our day was inspired by Smantha's post about taking Lily to pick strawberries. These berries are delicious! So it was a two for one...a nice family activity ...and a yummy treat.
Then we headed over to Stone Mountain. Stone Mtn is one of our favorite places to go to. We had fun playing putt putt, going on the train ride, riding the sky tram, and playing on top of the mountain. Rose even took several of our photos toady. She really enjoys photography right now. So in the mosaic photo, all the pics that don't have rose in the photo (minus the produce) were taken by HER.
We also stopped at a roadside produce stand and picked up some corn to grill tomorrow.

How fun, mom said you had a ridiculous amount of strawberries,
oh, and mamaw and papaw did grow strawberries, but i think that was something they started doing AFTER they made you WORK in the fields. you know, POST tobacco days, the days when I grew up
I just had grilled corn on the cob for the first time on Memorial Day. It was delicious! I was surprised how tender it turned out. I think that Josh and I might give it a try sometime, though I'm pretty confident that we (I) will burn it!
