the rest of summer break 2013

Rose got her new Irlen lenses!  What a difference they have made.  Her and I both have Irlen Syndrome which affects our vision and causes severe headaches.
She is my cutie!

We got this rocking chair off of Craigslist for the girls room.  Chad just brought it in the house and set it in the dining room.  I decided to check out its comfy level when Michael came in and sat on my lap.  I just hugged him and rocked him and he shortly fell fast asleep.  It was a precious moment for me because it was the First time I got to rock my son to sleep.

(the rest of) July 2013

The kids took an ArtTown class about watercolors.

The rest of the month we had company!  Both sets of grandparents arrived.  Grandpa and Grandma Anderson stayed around two weeks.  Grandpa and Grandma Irvin stayed around three weeks.  It was a blessing having them here at this time!  We welcomed the extra hands pitching in, their free flowing words of encouragement, and sought their counsel.  The kids enjoyed the extra hugs, game playing, and attention that loving grandparents give.

During that time frame, Chad's side of the family had a week long family reunion here.

After the reunion the Grandparents stayed a little longer.

Our first road trip with the kids.  Rose and I had eye appointments three hours away.  We got the kids tablets and headphones to help with the ride.

Biological sister of Michael and Daisy came over for a visit.

Since the kids were still foster children until the adoption was finalized, we had to be creative with photos, not showing their faces, yet.
So we often took backwards and forwards photos.
