Home school

I love home schooling Rose (and Andrew). It is so fun to watch them learn. This weekend I got a couple of projects done. I put up a fun bulletin board. I had one up before, but took it down. I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I decided to put one up again. I thought it would be fun to incorporate Rose's framed art at the top. The frame has a picture she drew at age one and Hand prints at age two. I plan on changing the hand prints each month to match the theme for that month. (although last year we didn't start doing the monthly hand prints till Feb. so the Feb hand prints will have to do for Jan and Feb.) I also plan on changing the bulletin board at least once a month.
Can you find Rose and Andrew's name in the snowflakes? How about the snowflake rose and I made together and she put up all by herself? Or the snowflakes that she painted? Isn't this fun?
(click on the photos to see them super sized)

And I finally put labels on the bins! They haven't had labels. Then I put these 'pencil' labels on them....but it looked way too cluttered, so I decided to make my own layered (pink of course) labels.
And I think they turned out much nicer. Rose has already been better about putting things back in the correct bins.

We had SNOW on Saturday!

SNOW in Atlanta!!!

I was in the church when I heard it was snowing. We had just finished dinner and I had then dropped the kids off at their class when I see people walking in with snowflakes in their hair. So I go outside to take a snapshot right away.
Remember the flowers from last weeks photos?
It keeps snowing and by the time we leave (still snowing) you can't see the grass!I know this one is blurry but I thought you could see the snow a little better.
Rose is Thrilled with the snow on the way to our car.
And excited to run around in it again once we get home!

Wednesday's Field Trip...

Ahoy there Matey, we saw the new Veggie Tales movie "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything"Rose is drinking in this pic....
And Andrew has a mouth full of popcorn in this pic.
Even though they couldn't stop snacking for a photo, you can still see how cute they are. And they were so sweet today, as well.

Last Wednesday at church

Rose and Andrew at church last Wednesday evening. Oh how I appreciate those flowers in the middle of January. And then them at the church library and on the indoor playground.

Organization Weekend Update.

Well, I did get to my closet, my room, and Roses room and steam cleaned the bathrooms. The school area is straightened (not reorganized yet) But I do feel good about the progress and the "need" is slowly leaving my body...so I probably will just be happy with that for now.
On a separate note, we had a pretty good weekend: Friday night the three of us watched Veggie Tales, Sheerluck Holmes and ate pizza, then Rose fell asleep early and Chad and I got to catch up on our 'shows' that we watch together (Heroes and Chuck) :) Saturday we had friends over for dinner, I made Taco Ring and Layered Turtle Cake. Today we went and saw Mr Magoriums Magic Emporium...it was okay. Rose thought it was sad. We ate at one of my favorite restaurants - The Olive Garden...Chad and I always split the Tour of Italy and rose had spaghetti. Then we came home and watched Mulan II.
We had a nice family - time weekend. Also this weekend Rose has enjoyed 'performing' her motor skills abilities to us. She has these action cards and she has us read them to her and then she does what they say....like, hop ten times on one foot, jump like a frog, touch your chin to your knee, etc. She loves it and she is fun to watch.
Oh, and I have also really enjoyed watching her play babies lately. She is so sweet. ...And she also is always talking on her toy cell, too cute. She also taught herself to call on MY phone. She called her dad 3 times on friday and called her aunt Kiki (although she ended up talking with uncle Jerry instead) and she called grandma....BY Herself! I heard her talking and thought she was pretending until I noticed voices coming from the phone. So now if 'I fall and can't get up' I can just have Rose call for help for me. :)
