Pool

This is just a real quick video of us in the pool today. The kids did some cool jumping in off the side and jumping off of Chad's shoulders and stuff but by then I was already relaxing in the pool and didn't want to jump out and grab my camera (which is actually odd...because I normally love grabbing my camera...it is becoming an extension of me) But not today....I was comfy in my float and just enjoying watching them have fun.

......So this video is what was going on before I got in the water.

Kindred Spirits....

There is no way I can fully express my delight. Saturday we got to spend the day with Samantha and her beautiful family (husband -Josh and daughter-Lilly). Samantha and I are of kindred spirits. We are so similar in our beliefs and values and life choices (etc) it is almost unbelievable. It was a joy just to be able to spend time with her.
I was extraordinarily pleased to find out that we are only a 3 hour drive apart. That means 1 1/2 hours apart if we meet half way....I think my heart leaped for joy!
I am not going to try and describe Samantha to you...just know that when I met her, about ten or eleven years ago, she was a young teen, but despite her age ....the love of God shone brightly through her ...she had the maturity of a wise elder ....she says she learned from me, but I learned much from her ....I have always had such high regards and respect towards her ...Yeah...she is THAT extraordinary.

So enjoy the video.

It was a pleasure to get to know Josh...seems Samantha picked a 100% winner (who oddly enough is quite similar to Chad). And you can see for yourself how adorable Lilly is! (I do have to brag and boast about how Lilly instantly "took" to me:) Thanks guys for coming down to Atlanta! It truly meant a lot to me.
It was great spending time with the Davis family and hopefully we will be getting together sometime real soon. (like a weekend in Chattanooga:)

Clean up time!

I started sweeping up and they immediately wanted to do it. Luckily I have 2 little vacuums! hmmm........I wonder how many days we can do this and it still be"Fun"
Anyways, I think helping out around the house is important.....especially at this age while they still want to help.

Memorial Day Swim

Monday afternoon was spent at the pool. Rose had a blast! Most of the pool time was spent with the three of us playing London Bridges falling down, ring around the Rosie, Capture the swimmer, Rose toss etc, along with Chad throwing her up, spinning her and dancing with her. It was nice spending that time together!
Enjoy the video!

Memorial Day Brunch

Chad and Rose made some yummy french toast with strawberries for brunch on Monday. Here is a montage that shows how Rose is such a good helper in the kitchen. She loves to cook. She often helps me cook dinner, but her favorite is helping daddy cook breakfast on weekends.

Sunday Cook out

We started our Sunday by helping out in Rose's Sunday School class. Then trying out a different Bible Study for us. It is taught by the world known Dr William Lane Craig. We didn't even know he went to our church. I guess he keeps a kind of low profile? Anyways, he was re-starting his 3 year curriculum this Sunday and we just happen to find out about it and thought we would check it out. It is a large class, taught in the fellowship hall, but very personable.

In the afternoon we went on a picnic with Chad's classmates, Ben, Radu and his wife Christina. Then watched Alvin and the Chipmunk's on Radu and Christina's projection tv system. It was like being in a theater but with the comfort of a livingroom.

When we got home we put Rose to bed then Chad and I watched our church's morning worship sermon on the internet....since we were unable to attend the actual service this morning.

Strawberry Field and Stone Mountain

The three of us spent a fun day together on Saturday. We went to Washington Farms to pick strawberries. It was enjoyable, but it was HOT! It reminded me of WORKing on my grandparents farm as a child. (They didn't have strawberries...it was the laboring and sweating in the sun, the farm setting, the dirt paths, and the trees huddled close to the field that brought those memories back to me.) This part of our day was inspired by Smantha's post about taking Lily to pick strawberries. These berries are delicious! So it was a two for one...a nice family activity ...and a yummy treat.
Then we headed over to Stone Mountain. Stone Mtn is one of our favorite places to go to. We had fun playing putt putt, going on the train ride, riding the sky tram, and playing on top of the mountain. Rose even took several of our photos toady. She really enjoys photography right now. So in the mosaic photo, all the pics that don't have rose in the photo (minus the produce) were taken by HER.
We also stopped at a roadside produce stand and picked up some corn to grill tomorrow.
It was a fun family day!

Cupcakes

Friday afternoon Rose asked if we could make cupcakes. I can't recall ever making cupcakes with Rose. I checked the pantry and we had everything needed. So we had a fun time together making cupcakes. Luckily, we have a picnic to go to this weekend to get rid of some of these cupcakes. 24 cupcakes is an awfully lot when your a household of 3.
