Water Land

The day before yesterday the dishwasher didn't run when I turned it on. I thought maybe I didn't turn the dial all the way. So yesterday when I went to run it again (I already had dishes pilling up in up the sink waiting their turn) I made sure I turned the dial to the correct spot. I go in the bedroom to play Mr Potato Head with Rose. We play for a while. I go back into the kitchen, the floor is flooded. Yes water just loves us here at this apartment.
There was the major flooding back in December in the bathroom, hall, and bedroom; then the beginning of this month, water was coming in through the ceiling in our living room (I don't think I blogged about that one) and the water that came in our laundry room and now there is a big hole in the ceiling in there. Water stains on our ceiling in the living room and water stains down the walls is now a common sight. So when I saw water cover my kitchen floor, I wasn't shocked. I go to clean it up and discover the water by the dishwasher it is an inch high. Oh...I am beginning to become an expert water cleaner upper!
Spending over an hour washing dishes by hand...still wasn't done....so my loving husband offers to finish them up for me. Isn't he so sweet.

The Haircut

First I must remind you of this:Yesterday Rose came sheepishly peeking around the corner to seek me out. I smiled back and thought 'she is so precious'....then I notice she looks different....oh my goodness she has cut her hair. I go in the kitchen (where she has just came from) to investigate.
And this is what I found:
I pick it up:
And calmly take her to the bathroom so she can see herself:
She's not so thrilled with the results:
"Mommy do I look like a boy?"

....well, honey a bow might be even more of a necessity, now.

Live Butterfly Garden

This Live Butterfly Garden is going to be our main Science project for March. Doesn't it look like fun! You send off and get caterpillar larvae mailed to you. It has instructions for caring for and watching it change in different stages until you have butterflies then you watch them and release them! And of course we had to get a new book that explains it all. Rose is so excited she filled out the form to send out herself...now I need to call and see if I can just order the larvae over the phone or if I need a new form, because I just don't think they will be able to understand what Rose wrote down! She has been talking about it everyday this week....I hope she enjoys it this much once we actually start!

Valentine's Party

Our Valentine's Party was going to be on the 13th (Wed) but we ended up still being in KY.....Then since Rose was sick last week I didn't want her to have sugar on Friday......so we had our party on Monday. We were going to decorate cupcakes but I decided to decorate slices of angel food cake instead. We made cards and did crafts. They had a lot fun playing and eating sweets.

Sunday

This is (daddy and) Rose before Church and with a small wardrobe change she turns her look from Sunday preschool fashion into movie chic! :)

Chad and I were the Sub Teachers in Rose's class today. We had so much fun!
eleven - 3 year olds, one- 8 yr old helper, and Angela and Chad

After church we had lunch then saw the Bee Movie at the cheap theater. When the movie was over....I can not even describe how much it was pouring down the rain. It was unbelievable. I haven't seen rain like that in years, and certainly not here in GA. We were completely soaked running to the van. Our hair was soaked, our clothes were soaked, our shoes were soaked. We had a good laugh at ourselves.

Kennesaw Mountain

On Saturday we, Chad, Rose and I, hiked up Kennesaw Mountain. We had fun hiking on the mountain. The different trails we took equaled about 3 miles. Rose spent most of that time on daddy's shoulders. It was 69 degrees and was a beautiful day. (especially to think that just few days earlier I was 'iced-in' at Kristie's in KY)
In the top photo you can see some of Atlanta skyline (on both sides of my head. And if you look really close on the left/middle you can see Stone Mtn)
ps - I will add a photo that has Chad in it to this post later....Some pics were taken on his cell and I will have to load those when he gets home.
