March~Weeks 19-23 of MFW (with a visit from Grandma, St. Patrick's Day, and Rockclimbing)

We were able to double up on some work...so we could have more relaxed days once Grandma arrived.

During these weeks Rose had fun learning about animal claasification.

This seed experiment was fun for her to check on each day.

Learning about Thomas Jefferson, the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition was very interesting.  Reading good books and watching a couple of documentaries available on Netflix instant watch really brought it to life.  I highly recommend the ones directed by Ken Burns.

In our state studies we learned about OH, LA, IN, MS, IL and AL.

What is high in the middle and round at both ends? O-HI-O
(hey, that is great 2nd grade humor!)
Anyways....
When we studied Ohio, we got to taste Tomato Juice (The state drink of OH) and Lifesavers (first made in OH)
The lifesaver is definitely yummier than the juice :0)

Two of Roses's favorite books this month were Farmer Boy and Pollyanna.

A super fun PE class is indoor Rockclimbing!  Rose goes twice a week.

At co-op Rose is taking 2 classes:  Etiquette and Fencing...  very fun!
They started out using pool noodles...but quickly moved up to epees...  :0)

Rose next to our St Patricks shelf. ...some crafts, photos, and a lapbook...
And a photo with our cashier at Trader Joe's...

Some Keepers At Home Club fun...
...making beaded jewelry
and going swimming...

And Grandma Irvin came for almost 3 weeks!!  Oh what fun!!  She came to visit us so she could watch Rose for us while Chad and I did Foster/Adoption Training with the state of NV. ~Thanks Grandma, you are a blessing to us.

Rose and Grandma played from morning to night.  They did jigsaw puzzles, played house, and just played, played, played.  Rose loved having Grandma here.  It was a great treat!

Here is a little video of pictures during Grandma's visit....

Hey Angela-
We had folks mail us postcards from states they travel too and locate them on the map and such. I noticed you studied our state! We can send a postcard if you will message me your mailing address. AND if there is anything else you might want we could go for that too!
