Sunday

This is (daddy and) Rose before Church and with a small wardrobe change she turns her look from Sunday preschool fashion into movie chic! :)
Chad and I were the Sub Teachers in Rose's class today. We had so much fun!eleven - 3 year olds, one- 8 yr old helper, and Angela and Chad

After church we had lunch then saw the Bee Movie at the cheap theater. When the movie was over....I can not even describe how much it was pouring down the rain. It was unbelievable. I haven't seen rain like that in years, and certainly not here in GA. We were completely soaked running to the van. Our hair was soaked, our clothes were soaked, our shoes were soaked. We had a good laugh at ourselves.
Kennesaw Mountain
In the top photo you can see some of Atlanta skyline (on both sides of my head. And if you look really close on the left/middle you can see Stone Mtn)
ps - I will add a photo that has Chad in it to this post later....Some pics were taken on his cell and I will have to load those when he gets home.

Home (finally)
Our trip was longer than we had anticipated. We ended up getting snowed in at my sister's for a couple extra days. It was snow then rain then freezing rain then more snow...etc etc. Anyways, if you are going to be stuck somewhere...my sister Kristie's is the place to be since her movie collection is somewhere close 1,000. Yes around a thousand. But let me start from the beginning......
The trip up was nice and smooth. Rose traveled excellently. When we turned on my parents road (Warsaw Rd) we were amazed. A storm had come through a few days earlier and trees and buildings and lots of barns were destroyed. Rose and I couldn't believe all the damage we saw. (And I was amazed at how aware a three year old was to these things) I didn't see any homes destroyed, thankfully. But there was a lot of damage just on that one road. The only damage my parents suffered was some of their back porch came off. They feel very fortunate about that.
Friday we went to the hairdresser with grandma (my mom) and my aunt. Rose was a huge hit there. Talking and entertaining all the older ladies who were there. We did some shopping with grandma.
That evening we went to a little concert at my 'home' church with g-ma and g-pa and cousins Tori and Timothy. Phil Cross and the Poet Voices. It was refreshing. When was the last time you heard some good gospel singing?? (It had been a while for me) Rose danced in the side aisle.
Here is a photo at Kristie's when it started snowing. She lives on a gorgeous farm. I had planned on coming home on Tuesday but couldn't until Thursday.
Rose was sick all day Wednesday, poor thing.

I LOVE this church. This is where I grew up. This is where I was saved. This is where I did mission friends, GA's, Acteens, youth group, child and youth choirs. This is where I was married. As an adult this is where I was the Youth Minister for a couple of years. The people there KNOW me and love me. I miss that feeling.....Anyways, it was nice being there. I also went to Sunday School and church with mom and dad on Sunday morning and got to see even more people. It was very nice. Bro Bill had a good message. I miss having him as a mentor. They got a new youth minister....Matt Holeran. I know Mattt and his wife, And I was thrilled when I heard he would be working there. I think they will do a fantastic job!
Here is Rose making Rice Krispie treat shapes with some cousins on Saturday. That evening we had a fish fry supper at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Fred's house.
Pigtails on Monday!
The trip home wasn't as smooth as the one going up. Rose cried a lot. I think she still isn't feeling well, even though some of her symptoms had gone away.

I'll be gone for about a week
Yep, Rose and I are headed to KY bright and early Thursday morning. Andrew's grandma is coming to town, so I have some time off. So, we thought we would go visit grandpa and grandma and aunts, uncles, and all those fun cousins!! We will be back home Tuesday evening, so you should probably hear from us on Wednesday.
Wednesday's Field Trip...
Today we went to Suzuki Village and played in their playroom. I was so impressed with this place. When you walk in , it feels so calm and warm. Not sensory overload like so many kiddy places. Warm earth colors, brown leather sofas....brilliant. Huge fish tank.
