Clean house??

Ok, you would think that if someone went without their vehicle for two whole weeks that their house would get sparkling clean. But nooooo...my house is such a mess! I have been here pretty much 24/7 for 2 weeks and it is in worse condition than ever. How did that happen? I don't know. But hopefully we will find a nice used van this weekend and I can get back to living my normal life and then maybe my house will be clean again. :)

Motherhood

"Behold children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward." - Psalm 127:3

Dr. Leila Denmark, a well-known Atlanta pediatrician, said, "Every animal on earth takes care of its own until they're able to take care of themselves, except us. We have brainwashed people into thinking that there's something greater out there than being a mother."

Ellen Wilson Fielding, who left her prestigious job as book editor of the Wall Street Journal to be at home full time with her son, came to see it this way: "I felt I was going to a greater thing when I left the Wall Street Journal to care for my son." She said, "For the essence of motherhood is the acceptance of God's offer to share in the creation and development of another human being. The question was not whether the job was good enough for me, but whether I was good enough for the job."

Motherhood is the toughest, most demanding, yet most important job in the world. With the many choices for women today, let's not forget that there is no calling of God more important than being a mom.

Memory Lane Monday...

This is Rose and her friends January 2006.

These were the girls I babysat when we lived in Lexington, KY. They were the best of friends and too cute for words. We still keep in touch and visit Clara when we can. And the twins, Amber and Rylee, we did visit them in May but now they have moved to Washington state. All four of these girls were the same age (Clara was born in December; Rose and the twins were born in April.) And they played so well together. It was sweet having all these girls as Rose's playmates. We miss them!

This weekend Rose got to spend a lot of time playing with daddy. She really enjoyed the past couple of days. They played tons of puzzles, preschool games such as: fishin' Around, Lucky Ducks, etc... and read books and did imaginative play.

We had another trek to Kroger this evening. We had a storm come through earlier so it was a little cooler outside than inside (due to the fact that our AC still is not working)
I discovered that I really like walking. The walk north of our home to get to Kroger is a too busy with too many unmarked intersections and we have to cross an on ramp and go over an overpass. So I would like to explore the sidewalk walking conditions of Roswell Rd going South of our home....maybe this direction will be a better way to walk for leisure. Hopefully I will try it out in the next couple of days. ...with Tyler walking with me and Rose in her stroller :)

Well I went a week without my van...

It wasn't too hard to go without my van. We walked to Kroger, about a mile one way, 2 times this week. It was a nice family walk.
But the garage called and told us that our van is totaled!! So now Allstate has to assess it and decide if it is junked or what....so I will go at least another week without a van.
In other news, our AC seems to have broke this evening......and it is hot in our sauna apartment...hopefully that will get fix tomorrow.

Rose loves the rain

When it rains, Rose gets so excited. She wants to go out to play...
...splash in the puddles...
...and have fun!

And when it is staying around 100 degrees every day...the rain does feel nice.

I love that she loves our school time.

Rose woke up without a fever and ready to play. She seemed okay so we didn't go to the doctor. She has been playing pretty good today. She is not completely 100%, but she is doing well. Here is a picture of her and Tyler playing a game of Memory.

Rose is sick today

My little 'baby' is sick today. She woke up with a 103.2 temp. She has slept most of the day. Her fever went away and we played puzzles and colored for a while, then she started getting too tired to play and wanted to lay back down. Then eventually she fell back asleep. And then her fever came back. Poor sugar.
I have an appointment for her in the morning at 11 AM. But no car to get to it. So we are looking into renting or I may just end up taking a taxi. Her pediatrician is in Alpharetta so it is too far to try and take public transportation.
............Well she has perked up a bit (at 11 PM) Here she is laying in mommy and daddy's bed, being cheered up a bit with dad's company.
What time she was awake today, she has been wanting mommy to hold her...and of course mommy was happy to fill that role.
