I did have matching socks too
Yes we had a fun day ....a feild trip with our homeschool group, where I got see friends and meet a few new homeschooling moms and enjoy a nice tour and then a lunch together.......Then Rose and I found lots of great deals at the very crowded library book sale .....at home I talked with the electrician ......and the lady up the street.......all nice interactions......but when I finally sat down at 5 pm to take some me time before starting supper....that's when I realized that I had on 2 different earrings :) No one mentioned it. Maybe they didn't notice....maybe they did but didn't feel comfortable mentioning it?? The earrings are 2 different shapes, 2 different sizes, and 2 different colors! ...kind of obvious, especially since today I wore my hair pulled behind my ears.

Cherry Dump Cake
Rose and I made a pineapple cherry dump cake as a thank you for the family that took care of Honey our bunny while we were out of town over the holiday season. Rose is pretty good in the kitchen as a matter of fact.......I was downstairs and she took the cake out of the oven BY HERSELF. At first I was like in panic mode but actually she did it perfectly. I guess she can do more than what I normally let her. (Although I think next time she should at least be supervised when pulling something out of the oven.)

Activity trays
I have recently reorganized my school room and I am so loving it. One great thing that has been added are the activity trays. I have been wanting a better way for the kids to do little activities and crafts and this seems to fit the bill perfectly. I am now into week 2 of this new design and it has been very successful thus far.
Here is the cabinet that holds the trays. On the side, Chad attached a wire shelf to store our work mats (aka: pink silicone baking pan liners from Target) but they work great as work mats too. The top shelf holds the nifty white trays (purchased at the dollar tree) and the middle shelves hold the silver trays (also purchased at dollar tree). Each tray holds all the materials needed for that activity. The kids can get a mat then pick a tray to take to their table. Once they are done they put the tray back, roll up their mat and put it back. So far they have LOVED it! Some activities the items don't need to replenished, but the ones that do, I just have them ready to be put out, but safely stored in the pink bins on the bottom shelf.

Snowman scene (with glittery white Christmas drape bought on clearance at walmart, the eyes, smile, and buttons are paper from the hole punch, the stick arms I just cut from black cardstock, and the nose is triangles cut from orange cardstock paper) The little pieces are in a container for easier access:

Another one of last weeks trays was how she made her Christmas Thank You cards (ink stamping and stickers) ((now we need to write in them and get them mailed out.))
I like this. She can go get a tray do an activity and clean up without my assistance. Love it! Later I will post some other areas of our school room.

Homemade Christmas presents
Rose had recently learned to sew a straight stitch and to sew buttons. So to showcase her new skills she made these Christmas trees as gifts. (One to each set of grandparents and one for us.)
She sewed on the buttons on wherever she wanted, then she sewed 2 pieces of felt together. I had to tie the knots for her, but she was able to do the rest! I thought they turned out cute.

Cheerleading Banquet
Rose enjoyed her cheerleading banquet. She had fun putting on her uniform and getting her hair gelled one more time.

All in all it was a good experience and I think she really enjoyed it. I, however, am glad the season is over.....We signed up before we moved. It was crazy driving all the way over to Marietta from our house. This banquet was the LAST drive over there!!! Hallelujah!
