Rose going to work with daddy

Daddy taking his little girl with him to work on a Tuesday in April. Here they are ready to go.
At the train station....
On the train....
Arrived down town...
Walking to daddy's building....

In front of the building daddy works in.....can you see the Georgia State University sign on the pole?
Rose at daddy's desk
They enjoyed a yummy lunch at Rosa's Pizza. Also, one of daddy's colleagues bought Rose a bag of Doritos and a can of soda....what a treat!
In front of the fountains

Rose went to daddy's classes as well. She said that daddy is a very smart teacher and she is ready to leave 1st grade and skip to college classes. :)

Rose came home so excited and reported that she wanted to go to work with daddy everyday!

(What a sweet daddy to share a day with his little girl)

Someone special turns 7

I can not believe it has been seven years. How wonderful it is to have this precious girl in my life.

Well, she designed her cake this year. She wanted stairs with 2 candles on each stair, representing her 6 previous years. Then a seven on top. She wanted it all chocolate. She drew a few pictures for me to go by and seemed happy with the final product. She requested her birthday party be at grandma and grandpa's so her cousins could come. So we had her party while we were in KY about a week before her actual birthday. At the last minute she requested to wear her PJs during the party, so she could be comfy. She was pretty excited over her presents.Tori decorated for the party and ran the "pin the tail on the donkey" game. How nice it is to have a sweet niece take over some of the party responsibilities!!

On her actual birthday we were back home, and the birthday girl got to pick where we ate supper. Can you guess where she picked? Yep, Chuck E Cheese.

She had one more birthday celebration. She was able to take one friend to the American Girl bistro for lunch about a week after her birthday. Mannayah joined us for lunch and for a ride on the carousel.
Here they are with their appetizers. They had little seats for their dolls.Eating their entrees. And then the dessert to share! The waitress came over and sang happy birthday to Rose and put a candle on her brownie to blow out.The man running the carrousel gave them an extra ride when he found out she was celebrating her birthday!

I just had to share these pretty vintage wrapping papers that Grandma Anderson sent her presents in. Aren't they dreamy!

Homeschool Conference

We went to the super huge Midwest Homeschool Conference in Cincinnati with my sisters and their families.
Here is Rose and Tori
Here is a pic of HALF of the vendor hall.
This Jordan and Rose waiting for the Duggars!
The Duggars on stage.... We love the Duggars we have been watching for years. This the one show on TV I can fully recommend. What a breathe of fresh air to see a Christian family that truly loves God and each other. They are a great example for us.
Rose during the hilarious Tim Hawkins concert.
Oh......and did I mention that I got to meet some of the Duggars!!!! We kept kind of running into them. It was so super cool. We chatted with Josh and Anna. (I never thought I would be star stuck talking to someone but, uh, yeah, I was)

And oh Michelle Duggar, she was so kind and so sweet. Wow, did I mention how genuinely kind she is. Who is your favorite actor/singer/famous person?? Well, can you imagine getting to meet and talk with them? It was nice, very nice.
The next day Rose and I met Jim Bob Duggar.
We were able to stay at my sister Jennifer's house during the conference since she lives closer to Cincinnati. I enjoyed crashing at her home each night. I was totally exhausted at the end of each day.
Here is Tori and Rose using the super cool Kinect game system. (no controllers, it picks up your body movements) It was fun watching them and if I would had had one ounce of energy left after my day of workshops, browsing the exhibit hall, and having a great time, I would have played the kinect myself. .....maybe next time.and here is Rose dancing in their schoolroom. Don't ask me why....I have no clue. I looked up saw this and took a photo. If you need audio... imagine christian music playing in the background and some giggling kids just having a good time.

Creation Museum

While in Kentucky we went to the Creation Museum twice. We love it!
On one visit Gma went with me and Rose. A few days later it was Tori that came with me and Rose.
